Well, this piece nearly killed me a few times. It taught me that I shouldn't ink something at 230AM right after I finish drawing it, and that on really complicated chars I should okay sketches with the owners before I keep going.
Anyways, this is a birthday present for =IceKrystal, and early birthday present! I'm never early with BDay gifts lol. This is her unnamed char, here's his ref sheet here, if anyone wants to go take a look at his awesome design [link]
It was hard to colour those markings traditionally, especially with my way of colouring. I sketched this out at work a few days ago, so I didn't have any references... I still don't want to look up a pic of a canine running because I don't want to know if it's horribly wrong lol.
The background image was a reference from this photo [link] I used watercolour with some coloured pencil overtop, I don't do that too often, the watercolour's a bit streaky on the sky but this is a pretty large picture, so I didn't want to kill my wrist and a prisma by colouring it in pencils.
This description is getting far too long, so I'll try to wrap it up, overall, I'm satisfied with this picture, there's some anatomical issues and I'm not happy with the large set of wings, but I spent far too long on this not to be pleased with it.
